FINRA has suspended Mount Pleasant, S.C. stockbroker Mark S. Perry from associating with any brokerage firm in any capacity for a period of eighteen months. Perry was most recently employed by Independent Financial Group. Before that, he was associated with Royal Alliance Associates and Cambridge Investment Research Advisors.
Perry made unsuitable investment recommendations to four elderly customers. He over-concentrated the customer’s accounts in precious metal sector securities; recommended the unsuitable purchase and holding of leveraged mutual funds (ETFs) for a period of up to 963 days; misstated several customers’ risk tolerance on firm records; and made misleading promises and statements to his clients.
Since 2012, Perry has had eight disclosures reported to FINRA, many related to his recommendation of unsuitable investments. The investor claims lawyers of McCarthy Lebit are investigating Mark S. Perry. If you lost money due to Mark S. Perry, please contact Hugh Berkson at 1-866-932-1295.
